We believe in the
ancient truths of the Christian faith. We believe that Jesus died and
rose again to freely forgive our sins, and we are eager to offer that
forgiveness to all. We accept the Apostles, the Nicene, and the Athanasian
Creeds as proper expressions of our faith, and subscribe to the Lutheran
Confessions, a group of 16th Century articles of faith. Chief among
those articles are the free grace of God that reaches us in His Word
and the Sacraments. We accept the Bible as the inspired and inerrant
Word of God. We believe all people should be baptized, including infants;
and we believe that Jesus is really present in the Lords Supper,
a meal that offers and seals the forgiveness of sins.
This congregation
holds all the canonical books of the Old and New Testament to be the
inerrant inspired Word of God and the sole rule of faith and life. This
congregation accepts all the Symbolic books of the Lutheran Church contained
in the Book of Concord of 1580, viz., the Ecumenical Creeds (Apostolic,
Nicene, and Athanasian); the Unaltered Augsburg Confession of 1530;
the Apology of the Augsburg Confession; the Catechisms of Martin Luther;
the Smalcald Articles, and the Formula of Concord, as a correct and
sound exposition of the Christian Doctrine, taken from and in full accord
with the Holy Scriptures.
