SUNDAY MORNING BIBLE CLASS OPPORTUNITIES
ADULT BIBLE CLASS
THE BOOK OF MATTHEW - led by Gary Engel in the Adult Bible Study Room.
Join us for an insightful look at the book of Matthew as we study God's
word and apply it to our lives.
ST. PAUL DISCOVERY CLASS - Adult Inquirers Class -Pastor Schepmann
leads this Bible class for all those interested in learning more about
their Christian faith, those who are new to the Lutheran Church-Missouri
Synod and are desiring to join St. Paul Lutheran Church, and those who
would like to review some of the basic teachings and doctrines of the
LCMS. The class is open for everyone, questions are encouraged, and
study guides will be provided for all in attendance.
CHILDREN'S SUNDAY SCHOOL
SUNDAY SCHOOL OFFERINGS through the month of August will go toward Operation
Kid-to-Kid, a worldwide mission project to send school supply kits to
needy children in Africa. This is the mission project focus for the
Serengeti Trek vacation Bible school this summer. Monies collected in
Sunday school will be used to purchase items needed to complete kits
that will be gathered by Safari Crews during VBS.
UPCOMING BIBLE CLASSES
BRINGING UP BOYS is a warm, humorous, and commonsense video curriculum
based on Dr. James Dobson's best selling book of the same title. Chuck
and Linda Anderson are the facilitators for this class beginning Sunday,
September 11th from 9:30 - 10:30 am in the 5th grade classroom.
THAT THE WORLD MAY KNOW is a video-based study by Ray VanderLaan. It
was filmed on location in Israel and brings God's Word to Life with
astounding relevance for modern believers. The first part of this series
will begin Sunday, October 9th with Dan McCauley as the facilitator.
The class will be held from 9:30 - 10:30 am in the school library.

WEEKLY BIBLE CLASS OPPORTUNITIES
MEN'S BIBLE CLASS meets at the Atlanta Bread Company (in the Avenue)
on Wednesday mornings at 6:00 a.m. We are going through the book "If
You Want To Walk on Water, You've Got to Get Out of The Boat" by
John Ortberg which has been an incredible study on faith and courage.
Bring your Bibles and comments as we go through this study that will
take a closer look as we learn how to better trust God. This is a great
way to study God's Word and fellowship with other men.
WOMEN'S BIBLE STUDY Calling all women to a great opportunity for fun
and fellowship! We meet on Wednesday mornings from 9:30 - 11 in the
Bible Study Room. We are doing a study called "A Mary Heart in
a Martha World". Please come and bring your friends. If you have

CROSSWAYS is an in-depth study of the entire Bible. Greg Bligh facilitates
this study on Wednesday evenings beginning August 24th. The class meets

A SIXTH GRADE TEACHER IS NEEDED due to the upcoming move of Mrs. Blouch.
We are currently seeking names of candidates. We have contacted the
district office, universities, and are currently running an ad in the
newspaper. Four candidates have already been interviewed. All applicants
must be elementary school and middle school degreed and certified. Please
contact Dan Palisch in the school office if you have any recommendations.
INTERESTED IN A CUB SCOUT TROOP AT ST. PAUL? St. Paul is pursuing the
opportunity for Cub Scouting for our 1st-5th graders. If your 1st-5th
grade boy is interested, there will be a parent information meeting
on Wednesday, August 24th at 7pm. Please see the bulletin insert for
more information.
DIRECTOR OF YOUTH MINISTRY (DYM) CALL COMMITTEE UPDATE. Telephone interviews
have been completed and the field of 37 candidates has been narrowed
down to 3. These candidates will be invited in September for a visit
and 2nd interview. Please continue to keep this entire process in your
prayers. If you have any questions, please contact any members of the

SERMON SERIES - "From Burn-out To Balance," will take a closer
look at Scripture and what God's Word has to say about taking control
of our overloaded, stressed-out, and complicated lives. Through this
sermon series, we pray that you will gain new insight and understanding
about bringing peace, calm, quiet and "balance' into your life.
What a great opportunity to use this message series to invite your friends
and co-workers.
CROSSWAYS IS HERE! Come join us for this wonderful discipleship-enhancing
walk through the Bible. This promises to be a life altering event, so
be sure to signup by the coffee pot in the fellowship area. WE WILL
START WEDNESDAY AUGUST 24TH AT 7PM, and meet every Wed at that time.
Class schedule follows the school calendar - when school is out, class
is out. Class is open to all confirmation-age-and-older congregants,

THE RETURN OF MEN'S BASKETBALL IS HERE! We will play every Sunday from
4:00-6:00 p.m. in the gym.

UPCOMING EVENT
7TH AND 8TH GRADE CONFIRMAND AND PARENT MEETING - AUG. 28TH. Parents,
you should have received a letter inviting you to attend a conformation
informational meeting for parents and confirmands. This meeting will
give an overview of this year's curriculum, establish meeting times
and dates, and provide you an opportunity to ask questions. The meeting
will be held immediately following late service on August 28th in the
Adult Bible Study room.
LADIES BUNCO will be held at 7:00 p.m. on August 30th (hosted by Jean

YOUTH NEWS
THE SUNDAY NIGHT HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH MEETING has been modified. We'll
meet every other Sunday night from 7PM - 8:30PM, here at the church.
Come hang out, and bring a friend. We meet again on August 28th, at
which time we'll plan out the activities for the upcoming school year.
THE HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH is hosting the games for today's Rally Day. If
you would like to help and have not yet gotten an assignment from Brenda
Spieler, please see her immediately following the service.
4 NIGHTS IN OCTOBER! Contemporary Chistian music right here in Peachtree
City. Brenda Spieler and Bonnie West will be ordering tickets for Saturday
night October 8th. (Times not available yet). All youth are welcome
(6th-12th).

School Gathering will be held November 4-6 at Lake Yale in Leesburg,

ATTENTION ALL ACOLYTES and those who want to be acolytes --please let
Cele Eifert (770-632-6417 or ron-cele@att.net) know ASAP if you want
to serve as a new acolyte or if you are a returning acolyte, what dates
in Sept, Oct, Nov and Dec, that you cannot serve and also if you need
to change what services you prefer to serve. Deadline is 25Aug.
THERE ARE QUITE A FEW OPEN DATES left on the Fellowship Coffee sign-up
sheet, located across from the church mailboxes. Your help is needed.
Please add your name to the list to provide baked goods (homemade or
store bought, we're not picky!) for the fellowship period between Sunday
school and services. And "Thank You!" to all who have participated
in the past. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Key Inventory Sheet, please take a moment to do so. If you have misplaced
yours, there are extras in the Palisch church mailbox. Please complete
