COMMUNITIES CHANGE WHEN BOYS BECOME MEN OF GOD
True masculinity is already difficult to quantify. What is a man? What does he value? How does he act? In today’s world, it’s becoming increasingly challenging for boys to know what true manhood looks like. With a range of messages being received from different media sources, an upcoming generation known as the “fatherless generation,” and a scarcity of Godly men, what is a young boy to do?
At St. Paul, our 7-8th grade boys join The Watchmen. Led by Mr. Nathan De Young, the purpose of Watchmen is to inspire and train boys to become men of God. We gather to learn the truth about who God designed men to be, challenging ourselves to act like a men, and encouraging one another as we grow in our brotherhood.
7th grade boys are considered “Year 1” Watchmen, and gather with the 8th grade boys once a week. 8th grade boys are considered “Year 2” Watchmen and gather twice a week, once with the 7th grade boys and once just 8th grade.
