Our Story

A Snapshot of Where We’ve Come From

St. Paul has a history of bold moves and flexibility for the purposes of serving people and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

In June of 1995 a few people, along with Pastor Ron Janssen, began a new ministry in Peachtree City, GA, known today as St. Paul Lutheran Church and School. That original group did not have school aged children themselves but they recognized the benefits of a Lutheran School. Following God’s prompting, they began the ministry with an emphasis on Christian education.

With extraordinary dedication, they built a full school for preschool through 8th grade which opened its doors in the Fall of 1996. Because the mission priority to serve the community was the school, there was no dedicated space for Sunday worship. For decades, the congregation worshipped in the entryway, cafeteria, or gymnasium.

In 2015, St. Paul recognized a shift in community needs and greatly expanded the Preschool to serve about 100 children yearly in 6 classrooms.

In 2019, the needs of the community called for summer activities and care for children. So St. Paul established a Summer Camp that now serves hundreds of children every year.

In 2020, St. Paul underwent a major renovation and expansion that resulted in the first dedicated Sanctuary as well as new offices, cafeteria, music room, and kitchen. In addition to refinishing the gymnasium, this has resulted in many church and community groups using the facilities every week.

All of this serves to help the disciples of St. Paul live out the mission statement, “Connecting UP with God, IN with other Christians, and OUT with the world!”
